About Me

And welcome to my blog.

My name is Amy and this is my crazy, manic life. I am married to an amazing man who happens to be in the Air Force. I have a beautiful daughter that speaks her mind, a newborn son that does everything HIS way already and strong willed cat named Dora.

Here is a little back story on my life:

I have battled my weight all my life. I was one of those girls who was always a little chubby but would pray every night I would wake up skinny. Those prayers where never answered.

I lost my mother when I was 14 years old and my weight spiraled out of control. I found comfort in food but was so ashamed of what I ate that I would hide it. When I turned 17, I went to the point of throwing up all the food I ate in hopes to be skinny. I wanted to be the pretty girl everyone liked, not the fat one people felt sorry for. This went on till I had my daughter in 2007 when I finally admitted what I was doing and I didn't want my daughter have a horrible eating disorder.

In early 2008, I reached 270lbs. I couldn't believe how I had come to gain so much weight. I finally realized that I wasn't happy and NEEDED to reach a place where I could be happy.

After three years of healthy eating, exercising, and being true to myself, I reached my goal of a weight of  170lbs.

It wasn't easy by any means, there was blood, sweat and tears to get this point, but I'm finally happy with my body, life and sense of self. This blog was created to give the tips I've gone through, successes and failures. Also healthy recipes that don't taste healthy, my love of exercising, incorporating my healthy lifestyle into family life, and juggling a family.

I hope this helps all those out there that are struggling as I have.
